Congratulations to Serena Williams for winning her 22nd Major Grand Slam Title, and 7th Women’s Wimbledon Title. Then teaming up with her sister Venus to win the Women’s Doubles Championship. Venus also made it to the semi finals in Women’s singles. Their next big event will be the Olympic Games in Rio. How long will the Williams sisters play, your guess is as good as mind. They put some truth in the old saying, “Age ain’t nothing but a number”.

The NBA 2016 Championship

defense-311598_960_720[1]

The 2016 NBA Championship was won by the Cleveland Cavaliers by the score of 93 to 87 over Golden State Warriors. The most attention will be given to LeBron James who won the MVP award and brought a championship to Cleveland after a 52 year drought. The unsung hero will be Carrie Irving the little man that played big and gave the Cavaliers the clutch shooting that help to bring them back from a 3 to 1 game deficit, and then winning 3 games in a row to win the championship. It is no surprise at the effort of LeBron James, known as the best player of the day, but basketball is a team sport, and I hope they recognize the team as well. It was a great game but in every contest there is a winner and a loser. Last year Golden State won over Cleveland and this year it is Cleveland over Golden State. Will this be a rivalry to be repeated next year? Only time will tell. Golden state had a great season and came up just a little short at the end. The fans had a great series to watch, but looking back over the entire season and Play-offs there were quite a few teams that came up, just a little short. Well as it was said in the past, “Wait till next year”.

Who was Muhammad Ali to Black People???

Who was Muhammad Ali to Black people?
Simply put, he was the Black people’s real life Super Hero. He was the pride you kept pinned up in side of you, because to acknowledge it would cause you hardship from the White establishment. He was not the Black stereotype they were willing to accept. Today they praise him and tell you how much they love him, but the truth is they would watch him fight only in hopes that he would lose. Black people all over America would go to were ever the close circuit fight was shown, pay whatever was asked to see Ali Win. They would leave after the fights shouting Ali, Ali, Ali, over and over again, chanting in to the night. When he was young and at his greatest, fighters could not even hit him because his reflects were so quick . They criticized his style of fighting because he fought moving away, rather than standing toe to toe. We all know as you get older you slow down gradually. When they took his title and would not allow him to fight, he also was going from his mid- twenties to thirty years of age. Realizing he could not go long distances with his normal way of fighting, he change his style, and began to take punches. Myself as a Blackman, I felt every punch he took in the method he chose to fight, because I was not use to seeing him being hit. The first fight with Joe Frasier was his first loss. In my opinion, if it was not for the knock –down and laying on the ropes, he would not have lost the fight.

There will never be another, Like this Soul Brother.
The Greatest was a gift from God to Black People.
