What about Kneeling is Disrepectful???

The feeling in which was placed into the singing of the National Anthem, first was done by Marvin Gaye of MOTOWN at a NBA All-Star game. There was no mention of disrespect mentioned. The Black community has been patriotic to the flag and country and was the first to die for its revolution even when in slavery. The people who boo some one for speaking to the rights fought for by Black people, are mostly people who have not worn the uniform of the United States military or fought beside them in wars. I say to all who claim that Black people are disrespectful to America, look back in the history of this country before you speak. I ask this question “why are Black People not respected when they kneel in peace”?

A “WHY” for the Black Community

Why again we look back!!!

We must search out our past successes and remind the current generation of what they can accomplish.
If someone speaks of the NAACP, chances are most people will recognize this organization.
If NNBL is mentioned the opposite reaction would result, but was just as important to the cause for civil rights during the Jim Crow era. The National Negro Business League believed self-help was the best approach to solving the needs of problems faced by Black people. This group’s work lead by Booker T Washington in 1900, and can be found on Wikipedia African American Businesses. The only group I know for sure, who will recognize them are the students at Tuskegee University.

Executive Committee of the National Negro Business League, c. 1910. NNBL founder Booker T. Washington (1856-1915) is seated, second from the left.

“Thank you Stevie” from the Black Community

Thank you to Stevie Wonder for making it clear for all who are concerned, that kneeling in the Black community is a sign of prayer. If it is disrespectful to pray at any time it is not known in the Black community. We pray for help when we face things that are out of our control. We face circumstances every day that we ask for help to get us through trying times. To those who would deny us that right, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
