The 2016 NBA Championship was won by the Cleveland Cavaliers by the score of 93 to 87 over Golden State Warriors. The most attention will be given to LeBron James who won the MVP award and brought a championship to Cleveland after a 52 year drought. The unsung hero will be Carrie Irving the little man that played big and gave the Cavaliers the clutch shooting that help to bring them back from a 3 to 1 game deficit, and then winning 3 games in a row to win the championship. It is no surprise at the effort of LeBron James, known as the best player of the day, but basketball is a team sport, and I hope they recognize the team as well. It was a great game but in every contest there is a winner and a loser. Last year Golden State won over Cleveland and this year it is Cleveland over Golden State. Will this be a rivalry to be repeated next year? Only time will tell. Golden state had a great season and came up just a little short at the end. The fans had a great series to watch, but looking back over the entire season and Play-offs there were quite a few teams that came up, just a little short. Well as it was said in the past, “Wait till next year”.
