WORDS TO LIVE BY

None of us get to choose how we die, only how we live.

The truth is like the sun – you can shut it out for a while, but it is never going to go away.

Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

It is hard to build a future if you can’t see past today.

Begin each day as if it were on purpose.

Make choices, not excuses.

With every gain there is a loss.  With every loss there is a gain.

Live your life through the windshield, not through the rear-view mirror.

When

global-team-1238048[1]Here is a “When” for the Black Community. When you Vote on every Election Day you are saying to everyone in the United States of America, “I am a citizen of this country  and exercising the rights granted to me by the constitution.  The Voting Rights Act is not permanent and was design to prevent discrimination at the polls. The only way to guarantee all black people the right to vote is to use that right on a regular basis, regardless of who or what is on the ballot. Election Day is the most important day of the year. Thanksgiving Day you enjoy a meal with family and friends, Christmas you exchange gifts with family and friends, New Years Eve you have drinks with family and friends, but one person elected or referendum passed on Election Day can change your whole way of life in a day. I hope to see you at the polls “Happy Election Day”.

Where?

Lets speak to the “Where ” question concerning the Black community. Where were we yesterday. Slavery, then the Emancipation Proclamation, then ‘Black Wall Street, then “Jim Crow” then The Civil Rights Movement, then the Million Man March. Today we shout “Black Lives Matter”, along with other chants from different incidents, so our quest for Freedom, Justice and Equality can be reached  tomorrow.  Is it a step in the right direction with the power of the vote?
